1. Spending quality time with Mom is always good. - Took my mom out to dinner on Friday evening after work. I asked her to choose a nice restaurant, but out of starvation, she ended up choosing Cibo, which is always fine by me. Shared a plate of pasta and pate. We scarfed down the whole thing in a matter of minutes! Of course, we also did some light shopping. By light, I mean I only bought one pair of shoes. Why is it that when I'm saving up for something big, everything in the mall looks great and when I'm not saving up for anything, there's nothing I want? Annoying, right? After dinner, we window shopped some more and then headed over to M Cafe for a few martinis and chocolate cake. I should try and do this more often. Maybe once a month? 2. My first Halloween without dressing up - Ever since I was a kid, I've always taken pride in my halloween costumes. I remember how one time, I was Ms. Piggy- complete with the pearls, pig nose and silk gown. Nobody got it. Everyone was like, "Are you the pig princess?". Since the group I went out with on Halloween was not the dressing up type, I didn't dress up but had fuzzy antennae in my purse just in case. The upside to that night was that scotch was cheap @ 89.00 Php (almost 3 dollars) per glass. Whether it was Johnny Walker Black as I requested.. that I will never know. 3. My boyfriend is the best! - (warning: may cause vomiting and/or a slight hacking cough) He didn't do anything cool like buy me jewelry, a pomeranian or a new gi, but watching True Blood, making corny jokes, doing silly dance moves, teaching me new passes and sweeps, downloading new games for me, feeding me Filipino comfort food, cuddling (hehe) = the best boyfriend ever! 4. I heart open mat sessions - Instead of our regular BJJ class, we had an open mat session yesterday. I'm in the process of improving my non-existent guard game so I practiced my spider guard sweeps and seated half. Instead of sparring 3x per session, I will drill my sweeps instead. Must reach my goal by next year!!!
